Take a day to explore the colourful, warm waters of the Indian Ocean or enjoy the white beaches and forests of the islands.
Experience Bazaruto
The park can be accessed easily from Vilankulo or Inhassoro, and is open to day visitors and long-stay guests alike. Most of the mainland-based lodges and hotels have their own boats and offer daily excursions to some of the park’s attractions. If not, visits into the park can be arranged through various tourism and activity operators.

Diving and Snorkelling
Bazaruto boasts some of East Africa’s best diving and snorkeling spots. Swim alongside turtles, sharks, and huge schools of fish at Two Mile Reef, Paradise Island, and Magaruque.

Sport Fishing
Get ready to catch (and release) some big fish! Sport fishing can be done throughout the park, but always make sure to follow the codes of conduct to ensure sustainability.
Dhow island hopping
Hop on a traditional, sail-powered dhow to explore Bazaruto the old-fashioned way and connect with the wind and waves. Most lodges organise a day trip to explore the park.
Liveaboard cruising
Coming into the park with your own yacht or liveaboard? There are two spots you can anchor at: Near the northern tip of Bazaruto or east of Paradise Island.

Helicopter flights
The best way to see Bazaruto’s blues is from the air. Organise a scenic helicopter flight or a transfer to your lodge to appreciate the region’s spectacular range of colours.

Horse riding
Explore deep into the islands’ interiors on horseback to see freshwater lakes, towering dunes, and shaded coastal forests. This activity is normally only available to guests staying on the islands.
